The famous plagues sent against Pharoah by Moses have held peoples interest since the time Moses went to see the burning bush (I will now turn aside to see this great wonder) and told Jehova what he could do with his suggestions. If Moses' brother AAron had not also made the trip from Egypt to see the "great wonder" it is likely god would have had to give up on Moses.

Not so in Egypt where Aaron did the talking and Moses did the tricks. The only problem with the plagues was that Egypts magicians could do about half of them themselves so Pharoah was not very impressed with god's showing off. Even if Pharoah had been impressed and decided to let the Israelites go, god would not allow it and "hardened Pharoah's heart" so he could show off some more.
